Worth mentioning that this might be a rather recent issue, most likely with Nvidia drivers, since I remember playing Red Orchestra 2 a few months back and I don't recall any issues at the time. On the same map I remember capturing pretty much all the ion frigates, and the game would crash as it loaded the next one, I had to destroy a whackload of them just to be able to continue playing. Capymah, I am assuming that you are running windows 8 because otherwise you would have warnings about Antivirus. I have the most recent Nvidia drivers, and even tried to restore default options wherever I could in their control panel to make sure it's not something in there that I fiddled with.Īlso, I have set the default GPU to my 870M, because I had terrible performance with the Homeworld Remastered collection and managed to track the problem down to that, so that shouldn't be the issue either. ![]() Most games thankfully offer config files that can be altered to enable windowed mode, but there are a few that have these files encrypted (like TWoM), and thus cannot be played at all. I first noticed this behavior with This War of Mine. So, here's the deal: there are quite a few games that simply won't start because they start in full screen and for some reason they think my monitor cannot handle the default resolution and they simply crash.
